Abstract
The authors demonstrate the effectiveness of a tap multiplexing technique that enables the doubling of the number of taps in a photonic traversal filter. This technique has been used to achieve a fibre grating-based optical traversal filter with the equivalent of 16 taps. The authors also demonstrate the technique in combination with apodization of the photonic traversal filter.
