Abstract
The Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera equation of state (PRSV EOS), coupled with the Wong-Sandler mixing rules (WS), was employed to correlate the vapour-liquid equilibria (VLB) and liquid molar excess enthalpy (HE) data of ten binary systems exhibiting various complexities (asymmetric systems, systems with polar and associated components, etc.). In the WS mixing rule the NRTL qeuation was incorporated, vhereby the nonrandomness parameter α12 and the second virial coefficient binary interaction parameter k12 were treated as constants. The Ohta approach was used for the generation of the parameters Τ12 and t21 in the VLE and HE calculations. The obtained VLE results can, in most cases, be considered very good, whereas the HE results may be generally regarded as acceptable.
