The commissioning of a cosmic-ray telescope and characterising a double-metal silicon detector

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The telescope, constructed of 3 cross-planes of reverse biased pn junction silicon detectors, was setup to maximise both the resolution and signal/noise ratio. Resolution and signal/noise ratio of a double-metal silicon detector was calculated from data taken in a beam test at CERN.
