Abstract
The Great Replacement Theory (GRT) is a far-right conspiracy theory that originated in France and has gained global popularity in recent years. The theory posits that a deliberate plan exists to replace white Europeans with non-white immigrants via mass migration along with their higher birth rates. According to this theory, a globalist elite composed of politicians, corporations, and the media is facilitating this replacement in order to weaken Western societies and create a more homogenous, controllable, and politically supportive population. Typically, the theory implies that this replacement is being conducted in a secretive and coordinated manner, and it is frequently associated with anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim rhetoric. GRT is criticised because it promotes a dangerous and unfounded belief that promotes racism, xenophobia, and discrimination against minority groups, some of which is readily absorbed through carefully formulated memes that appeal to a mass audience.
