The impact of signal-ASE four-wave mixing in coherent transmission systems

Abstract

We show that the performance of a coherently-detected transmission systems employing digital back-propagation is limited by FWM between signal and noise, and demonstrate an excellent agreement between numerical simulations and analytical theory.
