Abstract

Ensuring effective integration of employability is a vital element of any successful law programme, with an effective provision being one which student’s feel motivated to engage with. However, it is widely recognised that students are generally apathetic to careers activities, prioritising other aspects of their studies or other responsibilities over attending and engaging with employability sessions. This chapter aims to provide a template, that can be adopted by law schools and beyond, for integrating employability in a way that motivates students. This template achieves this goal by taking concepts pertinent to encouraging motivation for learning, namely constructive alignment, and adapting them to a careers context.
