Abstract

Working with live clients and solving problems is extremely important to enhance employability skills. I lead and teach on two sales focused modules: Strategic Sales Management and Social Selling and e-Commerce Management.

The Social Selling module is part of the MSc Strategic Digital programmme, and students have worked with a range of live clients, including; Callroute – a B2B telecoms company, YouBamboo - a sustainable clothing brand, Ark Media - an agency aimed at B2B and B2C clients and more recently the students have worked with Recruitment Founders Club - a company helping individuals set-up a business in recruitment. The final year Strategic Sales Management students have been working with a local SME technology company called Intercity. The students evaluated leadership skills, motivation, culture and Global issues facing the industry.

The presentation aims to demonstrate how local businesses engage with Aston University students, to offer internship opportunities which enhance employability skills.
