    Abstract

After initial definitions, the first part of the study compares the amount of time spent on various activities by E.S.N.(s) children in day school with time spent on the activities of a Doman-Delacato home programme. There follows a review of some approaches to the acceleration of the progress of E.S.N.(s) children, in particular that of G. Doman and C. Delacato.

The experiment which forms the main research item is one based on experimental and control groups, pre and post tested, of E.S.N.(s) children in a day school, the experimental group performing some activities from Doman and Delacato. The results are analysed and suggest in a qualified way, that this particular approach has some merit in the day school situation. A follow up study four months after the experiment suggests that the gains innit by the experimental group remain after the cessation of their special activities
