I am a communication expert / linguist / digital media scholar.

I have been studying and training professional communication for almost 10 years. Drawing on my research and extensive training experience I also help businesses and organisations to realise their business potential by improving their communications.

As a researcher I am particularly interested in professional (and) interpersonal communication in the work environment, including non-verbal communication, politeness, relational and gendered communication. My specialism includes  computer-mediated communication and social media.

My research has been published in leading international journals and edited volumes. I am currently working on a monograph for Business Expert Press on professional digital writing.

I work for the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research into Language and Diversity at Aston University.
