I joined Aston Optometry School in 2014 to pursue a doctorate in optometry and also undertook a clinical tutor role in the optometry undergraduate clinics. Subsequently, this led to a postdoctoral position here at Aston University in 2018.

Prior to that I completed my undergraduate (BSc, 2012) and masters (MSc, 2014) degree in optometry in University of Latvia. Parallel to my studies I worked in an optometric practice as an optometrist to gain a deeper knowledge in the clinical optometry. During my masters degree I spent three months in School of Optometry and Vision Sciences, Cardiff University under ERASMUS exchange programme as a Summer research student.
