I joined Aston Business School in December 2011, having spent the previous four years as Head of Research at the Economic Research Institute of Northern Ireland to which I had moved from the Northern Ireland Economic Research Centre.

I had moved to Northern Ireland in 1997 from a Chair of Quantitative Economics at the Barbados campus of the University of West Indies. Further back, I worked as a researcher in: the Department of Applied Economics in Cambridge, the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques (a Paris-based research institute), and the Research Department of the Australian central bank.

  • MEc, University of Sydney, 1976
  • PhD in Economics, Queen Mary College, University of London, 1979

My interest is in the statistical analysis of economic problems which concern policy-makers
