General

I completed PhD at the Institute of Physics (NASU, Kyiv, Ukraine) in 2008 and before joining the Aston University in 2015 as Marie Curie Fellow contributed several diverse research projects working in Poland, Italy, and UK. Currently, I am a Lecturer in Electronic Engineering and Systems, an academic member of the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and the Nanoscience Research Group, all in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

My scientific background and interests embrace research areas of electronic and photonic device engineering with use of nanotechnology, advanced materials science, etc. The areas of expertise include (but not limited to):

Applied thin film electronics & photonics: nanoelectronics (referring to the use of nanotechnology in electronic components), flexible electronics & optoelectronics, field-effect transistors, opto-electronic switches, hybrid & nanocomposite solar cells, devices driven via photochromic reaction, sensor devices.

Materials science: characterisation of organic, nano- and bio-materials, polymers, dyes, nanocomposites, hybrid ‘organic-inorganic’ systems (semiconductors & dielectrics).

Electronic thin film devices fabrication (ink-jet printing, all-solution made devices, & thermal deposition) and characterisation (current-voltage characteristics, kinetics of current, photocurrent, & capacitance).

Spectroscopy: photoluminescence emission & excitation maps, time-resolved photoluminescence, absorption, reflectance, Raman, photovoltage & photocurrent.

● Our group welcomes applications from enthusiastic and motivated candidates for PhD studentships and post-doctoral positions. The funding could be from the School or external councils.

● The projects can be focused on advanced functional materials and optoelectronic devices, in particular those based on nanomaterials for electronic and photonic applications.
