Biography
My research is in two overlapping areas: media and communications and elites. In both, I am concerned with examining powerful organisations and networks. I am particularly interested in critical examinations of economic and political elites, and the use of digital methods to research corporate influence, action and harms. I am the author of The BBC: Myth of a Public Service, a book which examines the BBC’s relationship with the state and the ways in which the rise of neoliberalism impacted on its organisational structure and culture.
