Abstract

By using a carbon nanotube based ultrafast fiber laser system, we have investigated the polarization dynamics of ultrashort laser pulses in the soliton regime. Various types of polarization trajectories have been found on the surface of Poincare sphere. Alternative strange attractors embedding on a two dimensional surface has been identified. We have reviewed the recent advances and development in polarization dynamics via using fiber based ultrafast lasers.
