Abstract

This paper utilizes data analysis based on the literature review and a survey of management practices in China conducted by the author between October 1998 and October 1999.

Because of the influence of Western cultural and working values, there are going to be many significant changes in organizational cultures and managerial values among
Chinese enterprises. However some traditional Chinese cultural values that are opposed to Western cultural values continue to resist the change. Any successful modernization is a balance or mixture form of traditional Chinese management and modern or Western management techniques in China.
