Abstract

The primary objective of this research was to investigate
the effects of long term wear on the ocular compatibility of hydrogel contact lenses with reference to the incidence of deposits. A number of spoilt lenses, representative of
a wide range of lens chemistries were examined. A variety of analytical and histological techniques were developed in order to characterise the morphology, chemical composition and geology of lens deposits.
