Accepting PhD Students
PhD projects
I am interested in supervising PhD students who have an interest in investigating and solving real-life problems, including but not limited to Supply Chain Management, Productivity Improvement and Operations Performance, Inventory Planning and Control, Scheduling, Energy Management, including Demand Side Management, Capacity Management, Disruption Management and Resilience.
I would be particularly interested in those who are familiar with one or more than one quantitative technique such as Simulation, Optimisation, Heuristics Search algorithms, Metaheuristics, Mathematical Programming, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Business Computing, and Applied Statistics.
I am also keen to supervise PhD students on the following topics, which are the recent trends of real-life challenges:
• Behavioural Decision Making in Manufacturing, Logistics, and Healthcare
• Renewable Energy Supply Chain and Demand Side Management
• Household Energy Consumption Optimisation
• Logistics and Transportation (including Drone) Optimisation
Please note that the above topics focus on soft computing and/or mathematical modelling. Therefore, I ONLY consider PhD supervision for applicants who have good experience in Python or another programming language, or having strong skills in mathematical optimisation modelling.
