Research Interests
Dr Jesvir Mahil is currently working as a Senior Leader Masters (MBA) Degree Apprenticeship Coach in the Aston Business School. Prior to this, she worked as an Ofsted inspector, Education Consultant and Lecturer in large Further Education Colleges in London and Birmingham, specialising in teaching Business Studies. She was granted Fellowship status in the Society for Education & Training in recognition of her positive contribution to education. She was also given Fellowship status in the Royal Society for Arts (RSA) for her contribution to Creativity research. Her PhD research at the University of Birmingham focused on Creativity in Education, exploring her own role as an Ofsted inspector in Further Education. Dr Mahil is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is particularly interested in stimulating social innovation and creativity through enhanced management and leadership skills. Dr Jesvir Kaur Mahil is currently working on an international leadership project (Learn to Lead) exploring values-based leadership styles. She uses Public Engagement as methodology to empower those who are normally marginalised and to address under-representation of local communities in leadership and management roles.
