Biography

Parveen Akhtar is a Political Scientist specialising in British Politics and the Politics of Pakistan.  Her research interests include political participation, young people and politics, minority politics, and Islam and Politics. Her work has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and the British Academy. She has previously held research positions at Aalborg University (Denmark); University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands); Science Po Paris (France) and the Institute for Human Sciences (Austria). She has taught in the UK (University of Birmingham; University of Bristol, Bradford University and Aston University); in Pakistan (Lahore University of Management Sciences, Karachi School of Business and Leadership); and, in South Korea (University of Seoul).
