Abstract

This paper describes for the first time the demonstration of an optical cross-connect able to space switch and wavelength convert using a single integrated photonic device. Wavelength conversion, switching and routing have been simultaneously demonstrated at data rates of 1 Gb/s and 2 Gb/s respectively.
