Abstract

In this chapter, PCA and its extensions applied to computer vision in the areas of image compression, visual tracking, image recognition and super resolution image reconstruction, are critically reviewed and evaluated on the targeted issues in each application as well as the role they play, characteristics, computational cost and suitable applications for each PCA based vision processing technique.
