Abstract

The main objective of this chapter is to assist researchers when conceptualising and developing supply chain management research in emerging economies. For researchers wishing to carry out investigations in these geographical areas, the expected learning outcomes from the chapter include: Being able to recognise the past, current, and potentially future emerging economies; Having an enhanced understanding regarding the importance of developing and emerging industrial economies for the global business environment; Giving consideration to the key research issues in supply chain management when investigating developing and emerging economies and markets
