THz Electro-absorption Effect in Quantum Dots

Abstract

Instantaneous electro-absorption effect in quantum dots, induced by electric field of THz pulse with 3 THz bandwidth is demonstrated in THz pump - optical probe experiment. This effect may be promising for Tbit/s wireless transmission systems.
