    Personal profile

    Research Interests

My research interests focus on the development of heterogeneous catalysts for sustainable chemical processes, notably the transformation of renewable and waste biomass into valuable fuels and chemicals. I am particularly interested in the rational design and development of nanoparticulate and nanoporous catalytic materials, and understanding structure-activity relationships in catalytic processes. I have engaged in research spanning sustainable chemistry, biomass conversion and biorefineries, pyrolysis and bio-oil upgrading, carbons and mesoporous carbons, thin film metal oxides, bimetallic catalysts, solid acids and bases and associated in-situ analytical probes.
