Biography

Dr Bilkhu is a therapeutic optometrist and postdoctoral researcher at Aston University, with interests in presbyopia treatment and anterior eye disease management. He is also a module leader for Independent Prescribing for Optometrists, elective studies supervisor on the Ophthalmic Doctorate programme, and teaches in a range of clinics on the Optometry programme.

Research Interests

Dr Bilkhu's personal research interests include modelling allergic conjunctivitis using a controlled environmental chamber, and developing diagnostic techniques for and treatment of allergic conjunctivitis and dry eye. Post-doctoral research has focussed on surgical presbyopia correction; contact lens performance; and meobomian gland dysfunction treatment.
