Nanophotonics of optical fibres

Abstract

Nanoscale effects in miniature optical fibre-based devices are reviewed. Propagation of the fundamental mode in subwavelength diameter optical fibres and whispering gallery modes in fibres having the diameter much greater than the wavelength are considered.
