Dr Amy Sheppard is a senior lecturer at Aston Optometry School and a UK-registered optometrist. Amy holds the role of Deputy Head (Education) within the School of Optometry, having previously been the programme lead for postgraduate (2011-2017) and undergraduate (2017-2020) provision.
Amy's research interests are based on the anterior eye, accommodation and more recently, Digital Eye Strain. Amy has a focus on providing a high quality experience for all students, using innovative methods and she has completed a Master's in Education as well as being recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is currently External Examiner for the MSci Optometry programme at UCLan and an iPRO research adviser for the College of Optometrists.
