    Biography

    Dr Yu Jia is currently a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Aston University with research expertise on nonlinear dynamics, energy harvesting and smart sensing with applications in transport, energy, industrial and medical sectors. Dr Jia's teaching specialities revolve around dyanmics, sensors and microsystems. Dr Jia has/is:

    • published 56 journal articles, 48 international conference papers, filed 12 patents,
    • been a PI/Co-I for £3.5 million (£1M to institution) worth of funding and £400k worth of scholarships, generated £200k in IP royalty, and a named researcher for £800k worth of projects,
    • 1992 citations, h-index: 25, i10-index: 41
    • collaborated with about 30 universities, 10 companies and 2 charities,
    • co-founder of the Cambridge spin-out company: 8power Ltd,
