Abstract
This chapter discusses assessment in the context of simulation-based learning in university business schools. It offers an overview of the role of business simulations in these institutions, before discussing the role of assessment. These two elements are then synthesised into a more focussed discussion that considers how simulations and assessment can be designed to complement one another to maximise student learning. We finish by offering some advice on how to avoid common pitfalls, gleaned from personal experience of running simulations for a number of years.
